| It's been ten days. I didn't think this was that hard a question.

| It probably isn't a hard question if you ask the right people. Mostly engineers
and field people read this file. I'd bet if you looked up a DECwindows product
manager you'd have better luck with your question.

| The lack of response from the field folks who participate here is the
equivalent of the dog that didn't bark: Interest in XUI is zero.
Rather than Digital pushing people to Motif, people are pushing Digital
to Motif.
The total cost of an XUI strategy for your customer is far less that
the total cost of adopting Motif. The proof of this is left as an
exercise to the reader.

| I don't believe the "XUI Developer Source Kit" ever became a product. It
went to field test (two years ago?), then was pulled before ever seeing the
light of day. As I remember, this was due to both the upcoming presence of
Motif and the fact that the product managers of this product (Craig Lamont,
then Dave Quigley) kept quitting! :-)

| A little research into the online SALES UPDATE turned these facts up:
Actual availability of the XUI Source Kit was announced by Jim Repsher
in an article on "ISV Developers Kits" dated 20-MAR-1989.
The following text discusses "intent" which I assume has been
implemented since 27-NOV-1989 when it appeared in a SALES UPDATE
article by Shirley Schneider on Motif plans nearly a full year ago.
WILL THE XUI SOURCE KIT CONTINUE TO BE AVAILABLE FOR MY CUSTOMERS?
The evolution of the DECwindows program is to implementation OSF/Motif as
the primary API. Therefore, Digital intends to discontinue availability of
the XUI Source Kit.
