3582.0. "help on hyper session" by DSTEG2::HOSSFELD (I'm so confused!) Mon Nov 05 1990 14:47

Can any one give me a kick start on HyperSession on DECW v3?

What to do or not to do with it etc.

Can I stop it from giving errore when I log in?

There's a pretty good description of it in the release notes, as well as
a section in the User's Guide manual.

Actually, HyperSession is covered in the "VMS DECwindows Applications Guide"
(formerly titled the "VMS DECwindows Desktop Applications Guide").

MEMEX end-user documentation consists of two chapters in two manuals:

   - "Hyperapplication Features" in the "VMS DECwindows User's Guide". Users
new to hyperinformation (MEMEX) should read this chapter first.

   - "Using HyperSession" in the "VMS DECwindows Applications Guide". This
shows you how to use HyperSession to do (relatively) more advanced
     things with your hyperinformtion environment.

There's also extensive help available in HyperSession. Pull down the Help menu
in the main HyperSession window (the Environment window) and select the
On Window item: this gives an overview of HyperSession. Explore among the
"additional topics" for further information.

(Incidentally, the two chapters mentioned above will also be in the
ULTRIX DECwindows User's Guide and Applications Guide when the MEMEX
features are available on ULTRIX and its OOTBs.)
