Hello, one of the biggest french industrial accounts, Renault Car Manufacturing, has spent a lot of time and money on developping home made CAD-CAM applications in the early 80s on VAX/VMS+tektronix 4014. Tektronix 4125 emulator is available on VWS and on DECWindows (VMS and ULTRIX). Tektronix 4014 emulator is available as part of the standard VWS shipment. Is there any hope of getting a 4014 emulator on DECWindows ? I know this sounds old-fashioned, but it would help me secure my customer on our workstations while gently pushing him towards standard CAD-CAM products. Thanks for any information, Erik

We are currently in the last week of field test for DW4125, a DECwindows Tektronix 4125 emulator. There is a notesfile for this product; contact Eric (HANNAH::) Osman for membership. You mentioned that 4125 emulation is available for VMS and Ultrix; I assume you are referring to a non-DEC product. Note that 4125 is a superset of 4010/4014, so old applications written for 4010/4014 terminals should run unchanged on DW4125. Alfred | |||||

You can always try xterm off the MIT distribution. I believe it has a 4014 emulator ala the VT200 style switch within a ANSI terminal. |
