I am pleased to invite you to participate in the newly created VToolkit NOTES
conference.  With almost 400 people on the VToolkit interest list, it
seemed about time to open a public forum.

Fellow VToolkit hackers have always contributed enhancements and bugfixes
in the true spirit of cooperation.  Hopefully, this notes conference will
encourage even more sharing of code and ideas.

Feel free to use this conference to:

        (1) make suggestions
        (2) report problems
        (3) ask questions
        (4) tell us about nifty-neat uses you've discovered for VToolkit stuff
        (5) discuss anything else you feel is appropriate

    What is a VToolkit?

VToolkit is a collection of "custom" widgets, sample programs and utility
routines that extend the XUI and MOTIF X toolkits.  It includes
things like:

Widgets:

	VList		- list widget
	VHist		- histogram widget
	VFake		- pseudo widget
	TList		- scrolling message widget

	VFrame		- (for VList) container widget
	VHeader		- (for VList) column header label widget

Utility Routines:

	VDrag		- enable draggable windows
	VAutoRepeat	- enable auto-repeating pushbutton widgets
	VtkUtil		- common convenience routines

Sample Programs:

	VDragRoot	- draggable windows anywhere on screen
	VDiskQuota	- (VMS only) disk quota display program
	BTrap		- (VMS only) broadcast message display program
	VCountdown	- countdown-style work in progress window
	VColorizer	- colorize any window on the screen

	TestVDrag	- test VDrag utility routines
	TestVList	- test VList widget
	TestVHist	- test VHist widget
	TestTList	- test TList widget

There are about 20,000 lines of code and documentation.  The entire
kit consumes about 3000 disk blocks.

I post these files in a public directory.  All sources are included.
In exchange for a mail message, I add your name to the interest list
and reply with the name of the public directory.  (The only reason I do
not post the directory name is because I'd like  to maintain a reasonably
complete interest list.)
