Greeting, I have been trying various ways to get an application to AUTO-START on my workstattion 3100 but still getting the same problem. Here is the result which I get from trying, $create/term=decterm ETHERNIM ( ETHERNIM is a DCL foreign verb ) This works fine when I run it INTERACTIVELY But when I defined it with verb ENIM with the same syntax and execute it via Session Manager Application window, the decterm is created and then POUP ... it was gone. It also happened when I used AUTO-START. I don't know DECwindow well enough to create a log file to trap the error which may explain why the decterm is disappeared. Please help me to explain of the symptom and may be provide hints how to get this working. Thanks. Thien Doan EIS/NMS

Re: .0 The problem is that create/term exits as soon as the DECterm window is created. When $create/term exits the subprocess running ETHERNIM will exit as well. To make this work you should define the ENIM verb as: create/terminal=decterm/wait ETHERNIM -- Bob | |||||

Hi Bob, Thanks for the quick response. I will post your suggestion in the other network management notesfiles so that you don't have to answer this same question more than once. Thanks again. Thien Doan EIS/NMS |
