Hi, this is also an ancient problem concerning the printscreen w/o SessMgr story. I have a clever customer who thought about "It must be possible to print screen without the caption of the Session Manager". Further he thought, "there is a small timelap between releasing the OK button as a confirmation of the destination file name and the mutation of the mousebutton from arrow to plus-sign. This time I use to iconize the Session Manager so it won't disturb me anymore". I tried that and was astonished that this worked great! There were so many questions about that before in this conference and the solution is so easy! (Don't hope that this has been published here before, but the conference is getting too big now...) But the customer has a big problem in doing that. The mouse pointer stays in watch state and when observing the system he sees that the main process has 99% of CPU and stays so. The only solution for him is to start DECw again. He has VMS V5.3-1 on a V3100. I have tried it under V5.4 and V5.3 on V2000's -> worked fine! Could it be that the 3100 is too fast for that? Or is this way totally unsupported? Thanks for any reply. Armin

Yes, there is a race condition if you happen to generate events right as printscreen starts up. This is clearly a bug, and it is being looked into. |
