3375.0. "Problem creating DECterm for 1 user on 1 machine" by RAB::SWONGER (It looks fake - I like it.) Fri Sep 21 1990 17:16
Yet another note about a problem creating a DECterm.
We have a VMS V5.3 lavc, and one of my users is having a
problem creating DECterms or any other application from the
session manager, but only on one particular node. He can't
start the clock, calculator, DECterm, etc. On other nodes
he's fine.
Also, if he starts up a session on that node and then
set-hosts in from a terminal he is able to create DECterms
using the same command (create/term=decterm/detach).
A look in operator.log shows some sort of logical name
problem, but it's not very informative:
%%%%%%%%%%% OPCOM 21-SEP-1990 09:40:08.97 %%%%%%%%%%% (from node OOTB
at 21-SEP-1990 09:39:22.81)
Message from user AUDIT$SERVER on OOTB
Security alarm (SECURITY) and security audit (SECURITY) on OOTB, system id: 2451
Auditable event: Detached process login failure
Event time: 21-SEP-1990 09:39:22.74
PID: 3BA000C2
Username: PAUL Parent username: PAUL
Status: %SYSTEM-F-NOLOGNAM, no logical name match
Any idea where I should look or how I can get more
information about this problem?
