3367.0. "CD drive / Bookreader and co." by FRSTSC::ERLEMANN (Bedman strikes back) Thu Sep 20 1990 06:32

	Hi there,

	perhaps I posted the following topic in the wrong conference
	(BULOVA::BOOKREADER), so I try it here:

             <<< BULOVA::DOCD$:[NOTES$LIBRARY]BOOKREADER.NOTE;2 >>>
                                -< Bookreader >-

    Hi,

    often enough discussed in earlier times, but...

    Can anybody tell me (*finally*) the trick of getting access to the
    bookreader information contained in the desktop cd, when not loaded the
    desktop vms system?

    I know, I know - I have to use the BOOKBROWSER.COM utility located on
    CD in DECW$BOOK... *BUT* in nearly 90% of my customer questions there
    is *NO* such command procedure - on the whole CD drive.

    Everytime they get the usual message: No license is active...

    Now, what's wrong?

    Thanks in advance

    Armin

All the CDs are the same, and the file is there in the [DECW$BOOK]
directory. I suggest you tell your customers to look a little harder.

3367.2That should be DESKTOP-VMSJAMMER::JACKMarty JackThu Sep 20 1990 11:402
    I suggest ELKTRA::DESKTOP_VMS. I believe .1 is incorrect in the case
    of Desktop-VMS, and that this was a known problem.
