3361.0. "Font issue with VR319 monitor" by NUTMEG::BARRY (Sandra J. Barry IS&A - 264-0187) Wed Sep 19 1990 12:16

	I just upgraded my VT1000 from a VR262 monitor to a VR319
	monitor. While using DECwrite with the VR262 monitor the pages
	of my document would fit on the screen. Now with the newer VR319
	monitor the fonts are so big the 1/4 of the document is off
	the screen. DECwrite Menus are bigger and hang off the edge of the
	screen.

	I don't want to have to manually resize each window and menu to make
	things readible on the screen.

	Is there any way I can get the scale of the VR262 while using
	the VR319?

	VMS 5.3-1, DECwindows 2.0, DECwrite V1.1.
	VR262=1024x864    VR319=1280x1024
Thanks,
Sandy

    The VR319 is 100 DPI monitor. You must have th VT1000 set up that way.
    Lie to it and tell it it's a 75 DPI monitor....

3361.2How do you change DECW$MONITOR_DENSITY on VT1000SWTHOM::MALASPINATue Oct 09 1990 06:029
    			Hi !

    		We just received a VT1200 with VR319. We also noticed the
    problem.
    Generally speaking how do you tell the VT1200 it's density. Under VMS
    you can use the DECW$PRIVATE_SERVER_SETUP.COM to specify all this kind
    of things. But for VT1x00's ???

    		Thanx !

	Hi,

>There is a knob on the back to set the proper densisty

I have a VT1200 and VR319, and I also noticed the
problem. I set the monitor selection switch to match with
a VR319 (switch position = 2), load fonts 75dpi or 100dpi
and still noticed the problem.
I don't see another knob on the back of the VT1200 except
the monitor selection.
Do you have more information ?

Thank's for your help
