3356.0. "list box " by NSDC::SCHILLING () Tue Sep 18 1990 15:56

I want to create a simple list box to write text strings to, but *without*
highlighting when clicking the mouse on the text.

Also, it takes so long to search through this notes directory for topics,
is there a note which contains it so I can extract and then search in an
editor outside of NOTES?

Thank you for any hints

    You can use STRS to access notes files faster.

    Why don't you use a simple_text widget with a scroll-bar?

3356.2Still looking... NSDC::SCHILLINGThu Sep 20 1990 09:1712
re .1

I tried using a simple_text widget, but when I click the text in the window
with the mouse, it still highlights, even though I have set the 'editable'
attribute to 'false' and have adjusted other attributes as well.

What I'm looking for is to have no interaction whatsover, except for a vertical
scroll bar. No editing, no highlighting, just displayed text to look at.
Like in pages of books in the Bookreader.  There must be some way...%^}
If anybody has any more ideas, I would be very thankful!

You want the TLIST widget. Contact Steve DECWIN::KLEIN for sources.
