3341.0. "Keyboard Types " by ROYALT::FINGERHUT () Fri Sep 14 1990 09:48
In the Customize Keyboard dialog box, the keyboards listed in the
Keyboard Type scroll box aren't complete.
They are missing Austrian/German LK401-AG.
Also, instead of having a separate entry for DP and TW versions, it
might be simpler to have a radio box to select between the two.
Any selections which don't have separate DP/TW versions, can ignore that
radio box.
Are you really going to continue to support the maps for the LK201's or
can they be removed from the box?
Also, you don't need to list UK LK401-AA because it's the same as
British LK401-AA, and US LK401-AA isn't needed either since it's the
same as North American LK401-AA.
Also, you should add LK402-AQ Canadian (English). This is a Canadian
(French) keymap with English legends on the keys.
Below is a suggested list:
System Default (USASCII)
LK401-AA North American
LK401-AA British
LK401-AB Flemish
LK401-AC Canadian (French)
LK402-AQ Canadian (English)
LK401-AD Danish
LK401-AF Finnish
LK401-AG Austrian/German
LK401-AH Dutch
LK401-AI Italian
LK401-AK Swiss (French)
LK401-AL Swiss (German)
LK401-AM Swedish
LK401-AN Norwegian
LK401-AP French/Belgian
LK401-AS Spanish
LK401-AV Portuguese

| Considering that most workstations still have LK201 keyboards, isn't it a
bit premature to suggest removing them from the keyboard menu?

3341.2 | sm keymap customization relies on files | STAR::ORGOVAN | Vince Orgovan | Fri Sep 14 1990 19:12 | 6 |
| There is a good reason why the Session Manager doesn't have a toggle
between data processing and typewriter modes in the keyboard
customization. The way it is implemented now, the SM doesn't need to
know anything about keyboard types. All of the smarts about keyboards
reside in the keymap file, and anyone can add keymaps by adding files
to decw$keymap.
