To enter a COMPOSE sequence under DECwindows, you must treat the COMPOSE key like a CTRL key; that is, depress and hold the compose key, then press the SPACE BAR. The keyboard will now be in COMPOSE mode and the next two keys pressed are taken as the COMPSE sequence. Note that currently under Motif, COMPOSE-SPACE is an accelerator. Jim

So how do you do it under Motif? (Are we EVER going to have two products, any two products, that use the same user interface?) paul

OSF defined compose-space as an accelerator for mwm. I was under the impression that this was supposed to be workstation dependent and that the defaults for workstations with LK201s was that alt-space was the compose starter. For LK401s the alt key and the compose key are separate. Dick There has been discussion of this in SUBWAY::MOTIF with the details of how to get around it. |
