This may be the wrong notes conference to ask this but does anyone know if it is the intended behavior of VMS 5.4-4G1 and DECwindows 5.4 not to support DECwrite 1.0 (or visa versa)? Not work: Upon quitting a DECwrite session the Session manager's Icon Box disappears and the (colored) banners disappear off all windows. The menu bar of the windows is still there and one can exit DECwrite (filing). Interestingly if one has had the session manager deiconized prior to this one can still select the session manager's window menu and Quit the session, causing a normal session manager login window to reappear. One can log in normally and all is as before. Using DECwrite 1.1 in the same scenario and same operating system version the quit functions as one would expect.???...... chris

Not to continue a discussion in multiple places, but what kind of system is this? If it's a VAXstation 3100, and it has the SPX graphics board, it just may be a DECwindows server problem. I'd suggest upgrading to the "real" SSB VMS 5.4. I've not seen any problems since going to this version... Mark |
