3309.0. "DECwindows Application Generator" by GLDOA::CUTLER (Genghis ... DTN 447-5163) Thu Sep 06 1990 09:18

Is their software available that would allow a customer to
generate DECwindows applications w/o having to write actual
DECwindows code? Like "Sun's Graphical user Interface Design
	Editor"?

I've heard something about an application
called "VU-IT", is this along those lines?

There has been a discussion on this subject in the MOTIF conference.
VUIT is a future DEC product that will offer similar functionality to
Sun's GUIDE. There are also several 3rd party tools that offer the
same or greater functionality. The best two are probably TeleUSE and
UIMX. Both offer far more functionality than either GUIDE or VUIT.
Only TeleUSE is available for DEC workstations, and they support both
    VMS and Ultrix.

	Ken,

Thanks for the information, I've talked to UIMX already. UMIX
is not supported on ULtrix, but the product manager felt that it
would be a fairly easy port. I guess they have it running on an
R3000 based system already (Silicon Graphics) and have used the
Mips C compiler. I've requested literature, don't know what end
	result will be.

TeleUSE - I'm still waiting to hear from them.
