Hi, I have a customer who reported me an error that is always written in the DECW$SERVER_0_ERROR.LOG file, when he quits the Decwindows session. He has no problems in the sessions itself, but he's a little worried about the errors. I searched for info about this error but did not find any. Perhaps some- body out there could give me a hint. The error is : inlogical_name_value, bad status 20 returned for logical decw$monitor_density The version is 5.3 of VMS and the logical decw$monitor_density is set to 75. Thanks, -Andreas

3308.1 | You may ignore this error... | STAR::VATNE | Peter Vatne, VMS Development | Tue Oct 02 1990 10:33 | 9 |
>in logical_name_value, bad status 20 returned for logical decw$monitor_density Your customer may safely ignore this error. Each time the server resets, it attempts to translate the logical name DECW$MONITOR_DENSITY. It succeeds the first time, and fails everytime thereafter. Since it gets the density right the first time, it doesn't matter that it fails the following times, as it just uses the original value obtained. Don't ask me why the code works this way. It's obviously a bug, and I will try to fix it for DECwindows V3. |
