3268.0. "Insensitive OPTION MENU behavior changed in V2?" by TAV02::GAN () Tue Aug 28 1990 11:45
It seems that the behavior of setting OPTION MENU widget
to insensitive changed between DECwindows V1 and V2:
On VMS 5.2 (DECwindows V1) when selecting an option out
of a OPTION MENU, the selected option label appears in
the OPTION MENU. Now if one sets the OPTION MENU to
sensitive FALSE (Using XtSetValues), the OPTION MENU becomes
inactive, but the previous selected label stayed visible.
On VMS 5.3-1 (DECwindows V2) when doing exactly the same,
after making the OPTION MENU insensitive, a gray PIXMAP
hides the previous selection label.
Is it an intended behavior? A customer of us found the difference
in behavior, and he says that it is a BAD change...
A DEMO program is available if needed.
Any help will be appreciated.
