I saw a demo at Decworld of a display of 2 - 3 minutes of a football video which had been digitized and then stored on magnetic disk using some kind of compression algorithm. I would like some more details on this algorithm and it's availability can anyone help ???

One of the marketing people behind the demo was Anker Berg-Sonne; Dave Wecker was one of the technical people. The demo was calle DIDDLY. Ed | |||||

I guess I should clarify the 'ownership' of the football demo: The demo you saw at DECworld is called SMP (Software Motion Pictures). It has been developed by on of my colleagues, Burkhard Neidecker-Lutz here at the CEC (Campus-based Engineering Centre) in Karlsruhe, West Germany. If you need/want more info about the compression algorithm he uses you should contact him: NESTVX::NEIDECK or [email protected] Dave Wecker integrated SMP into his DIDDLY demo.
