3234.0. "Laconic Session Manager" by ULTRA::ELLIS (David Ellis) Tue Aug 21 1990 09:41
The Session Manager is withholding useful information from its Messages
window.
On an Ultrix V3.1 system, I started up a dxrn process at my console session.
The Session Manager reported in its Messages window just the single word
"Killed".
When I ran dxrn from a terminal session, the reason was revealed:
sorry, pid 13996 was killed: xalloc: no swap space
Why is the Session Manager not telling me what I need to know? Is there
any way to get a _real_ console session like we had back in Ultrix V2.2?
It was _extremely_ useful to have the real console window capturing events
that were logged while I was logged off. Not to mention being able to
find out what goes wrong while I'm logged on!

| The best way to request UWS enhancements is to submit QARs through
GORGE. The normal QAR login info applies.
