Over a period of time I loose available colours on my workstation. It finally gets to the point where I have to restart DECwindows to get the colours back. Is there any way I can find the offending window and process that has the colours allocated? Or is there a way to forceably deallocate the colours without restarting DECwindows?

I don't know of a way, short of shooting one client at a time to see if the colors come back. Burns

Actually, I guess you could also run XShowMap and see if the colors there match anything on your screen. You might be able to infer that the application whose colors matched was the (one) owner of that color. Burns

Thanks Burns, I'll give that a try. Where can I get XShowMap from?
