     I have just had a second occurance of a strange problem. When trying
    to login via decwindows the screen hangs as it trys to bring up the
    session manager. The decw$sm.log gives this error:

    DUA0:[SYS0.SYSCOMMON.][SYSLIB]IMG$SHRLIB.EXE;1
    -SYSTEM-F-PRIVINSTALL, shareable images must be installed to run
    privileged image
    
    After comparing a known good system with this i found that 3 images
    that need to be installed were not getting installed even after a
    reboot. they are:
    
    IMG$SHRLIB.EXE
    DECW$PRINTWGTSHR.EXE
    DECW$TERMINALSHR.EXE
    
    After installing these manually the user could login. Any
    ideas/pointers? I haven't found anything in this notesfile yet about
    this but if there is please point me to it.

    here is a little more info:
    
    the total systems is now up to 3. 2 are running v5.3-1 the other 5.3.
    

    
    Problem found. Somehow a bad decw$startapps.com was copied to these
    systems......
