I found nothing interesting doing a dir/tit="selection", so I ask: Why do selection pop-ups always do the default search prior to OK go-ahead by the user? This may be a style guide issue, but I find sometimes with things like "include file", that I have +100 .txt files in my login directory and that I'm not even interested in those because the file is elsewhere, or worse in VAX Notes when I want to lookup up a keyword or define a marker, I have to wait ... very annoying. Is there anyway to "fix" this in any environment file? perturbed -- rikki

Nope, file select always updates the list of files whenever it's mapped. There's no way to turn that off. I'm sure some people like it, and some don't. For what it's worth, the Motif file selection widget only updates when the filter button is activated (or a different directory is selected). Jim |
