3135.0. "Bookreader problem" by DESTES::ESTES (Dave Estes DTN 341-2395) Wed Jul 25 1990 18:07

I recently installed DECwrite on my VMS V5.4-4GE system. After that I have not
been able to use the bookreader. I suspect the DECwrite installation did
something but I'm not sure.

When I start the bookreader, it comes up with this tiny box that just say
"Library" and shows only the "Quit", "Library" and "Contents" pushbuttons
and of them only the "Quit" is highlighted.

When I execute this from DCL, the box comes up and even before the wording
appears I start getting "X Error event received:" messages. The 1st is
"BadValue - integer parameter out of range" follow by additional info, then
followed by several more "X Errors" this time they are "not a valid window ID".

Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions to help me out here?

Thanks in advance.

    Dave,

    DECwrite doesn't do anything to affect the bookreader. Sounds like you
    have a problem with your decw$book logical and/or your
    libary.decw$bookshelf. It would be better to pursue this in the
    bookreader notes conference on bulova.
