3130.0. "Multiple device DECwindows" by UTROP1::BECKER_H () Wed Jul 25 1990 07:30

    HELP REQUESTED!!!

    For the Dutch Railway I have the following question:

    In developing a project for registration of the flow of trains, it is
    important that some officers have more than one active screens. We
    suggested DECwindows, which was greetly accepted, but after evaluation,
    this was still not enough.
    They want to have more than one physical screen, but only one keyboard
    and one mouse and ONE DECwindows environment, so they can switch to a
    new window over more PHYSICAL output devices using the mouse.

    I know that there are some solutions (unsupported?) which can connect
    two screens to a VAXstation3100 (one color and one black). This however
    is not enough.

    Who can help me, or give me a direction to find a suitable solution.

    If anyone has a complete different idea, then please don't hasitate to
    mail me.

    HANS BECKER @uto  / UTROP1::BECKER_H

    Thanks,

    Hans

I believe the DS 5000 gives you up to 3 screens per machine.

        There are several notes in this conference which discuss support
        for multiple display screens. See 2678.1 for the VMS summary, and
        note 282.* for hints and kinks.
