A customer has an application that creates and uses a private color map. It works 
fine on a VAXstation 3200 but when displayed on a VAXstation 3100 the colors are 
all offset by one, i.e. color index 0 is displayed as color 1 etc. Same VMS 
(V5.3-1). Problem travels with the server - it doesn't matter where the client 
runs.

Any ideas why the display should be different?

	Hmmm. No answer here either. Sorry, but I don't understand the nature of the problem. How are the colors being allocated? What exactly do you mean that color 0 is being displayed as color 1? Do you mean that a pixel with value 0 is being displayed on the screen with the color which has been set into the colormap at location 1? Are you sure the private colormap has been installed? Are you sure the indices have been allocated? Burns
