Hi,
One of our critical customers (INTEL) are experience the following problem:
On one of their Control system they are doing a lot of print portion of screen
(via the session manager's pulldown menu). After a while, the problem occurs.
While sending the portion of screen to the printer, every thing seems to be O.K.
and the dialog box requiring the printer queue & printer format appears. After
selecting the CORRECT items the user pressing the O.K. push button, and nothing
happens. We have checked it (VIA a modem) and we saw that the file
SYS$LOGIN:DECW$PRINTSCREEN.TMP still exists and WAS NOT sent to the printer
queue. WE did check the printer queue (with the /RETAIN=ALL) and we found out
that the file never got to the queue!!! Trying to send the SAME file manually
did give successful completion!!! The file did contain the whole selected
information. (Shows us that temporary file creation process succeeded!)
Rebooting the system "clears: the problem until the next occurrence.
Environment description:
VMS 5.3-1, VS-3100.
We have checked DECwindows basically quotas and they seemed to be O.K., but any
help/hint will be accepted and appreciated.
