LATmaster is an internal-use-only, baselevel test of new LATCP functionality.
It is intended to be included in some possible future release of VMS.

From my perspective as a workstation user, the most attractive part of this is
the ability to make connections via the SET_HOST_LAT command from DCL.

Be forewarned, however, that installation of LATmaster breaks VWSLAT. There are
a couple of "replacements" for VWSlat using LATmaster posted in the LATMASTER
conference. I use one called DW_LAT.

The conference on TOOK:: has lots of good infomation if you need more than
this.

For me, the most attractive part is DDE. With DDE, you don't have to create
a dummy process before you can SET_HOST_LAT to other machines.
