3060.0. "proble with proxies" by INFACT::DATZMAN (Vee Vont To Pomp You Up) Wed Jul 11 1990 13:50

I have installed dw_net on a DS 3100. I want to run some applications
on a VAX and display them on my DS 3100. I have, on the VAX, setup proxy
access for my DS3100. I have added an entry in my /etc/dnet_proxy file
    like this:
    		*::datzman datzman

In NCP on the DS 3100 I can seen that incomming and ougoing proxies are
    enabled.

If I specify the password in the dw_net application everthing works
fine. If I leave off the password I get from dw_net:

    	Connect failed, access contro rejected

Am I missing something here? Thanks.

Yes, you're missing the "l" in "control".

ok, so i answered this in another conf. shoot me (but spell it
    corektlee).

You may need to define a default priv acct for proxy access. Add
/default as in " *::datzman datzman/default". It may seem picky, but I
was going crazy till i did it. I think it has something to do with
UIC's, but what the heck, it worked for me.

I think it is considered unwise -- and possibly against the rules -- to
establish any proxy with * for the node name.
