Can an application be displayed on the same size window on different display servers? Let's say I have a 3"X5" display of a data base input form. Can I develop that so it will run under DECwindows on a Mac and PC and a VS3100 and all display a 3" x 5" form even though the resolution of each display is different. Thanks, Bill

There are Xlib functions that will tell you the size of the screen in both pixels and in millimeters. Using these values, you should be able to adjust the size (pixels) of your windows appropriately. Ken | |||||

.0 If you size things based on font units using the XUI or Motif toolkits, and set up your server correctly and define your font choices correctly (the defaults are OK for this) then you should be able to do this with little effort. Dick |
