*****************Also posted in DSSDEV::GKSNOTES**************** My customer is running a GKS (version 4.0) application on a VAXstation II/GPX, VMS 5.3. His application produces a graph in a window. When he clicks on the session manager box to do a print screen, the GKS window goes black. Is there some GKS logical or option that would allow the GKS display to remain visible so he could do a print screen? Or is this a problem specific to DECwindows. I've seen it on other graphics applications, they may also be GKS. If not, can he do something to the GKS code to make it work? Thanks, Dave

Sounds like GKS is using a private colormap. I don't know anything about GKS, but check the docs to see if there is any alternate device type you can use which will use fewer colors. Of course, if PrintScreen is clever, it will work in any case. I don't know if it is or not. Burns |
