A customer has heard the somewhere within Digital is a file used with DECwindows fonts. He said it had to do with our font file names being uppercase and something trying to access them expecting lowercase names (no, I can't be any more vague). Has anyone heard of the file FONT.ALIAS? If so, 1. where can I get a copy 2. what does it do Thanks, Peter

See note 2509 for a complete description of the fonts.alias file. Customers can obtain this file from the CSC. It will be available as an example file in VMS V5.4. Note that there is no problem anywhere in the world with the case of font names, as the protocol explicitly says that uppercase and lowercase do not matter (see pages 391 to 398 of "X Window System C Library and Protocol Reference" by Scheifler, Gettys, and Newman). |
