I was wondering, Can a Server and a kernel be built so that it can support multiple graphics processors? For example on the Decstation 5000 there are many graphics card options. Can one server be built such that no matter what configuration it is loaded on, with cfb, or 2da, it the server will work? Thanks in advance. Patrick

It is clearly possible, since that is what we do with VMS. Of course it helps that we can dynamically load sharable images that contain the device-specific code. If you mean one server with all identical code which runs every device know to human-kind, I doubt it. Burns |
