I have recently installed the new lat driver software so I can use the set_host_lat command. What I would like to do , however, is make this work like a decw application. I've been trying to create a seperate DECterm for a specific use. Adding a title and icon to decw$terminal_defaults.dat and have it execute a command procedure to do a set_host_lat to a specific node. BAsically I'd like to create a decterm with a specific icon name and run a .com file to lat into another node. Pulling this from a pop up menu like the session manager app window. I can't seem to get the decw$terminal_default.dat file to point elsewhere nor after I create the decterm can I get the .com file executed. Any help would be a big help I am running vms5.3-1 and v2 of decwindows. If I am unclear I appolgize, Thanks in advance - Dave Sullivan

Try the following: - in Applications Definitions define your command to create a decterm as CREATE/TERM/WAIT/RESOURCE=MY_DECTERM.DAT @COMFILE - then add it to the Session Manager menu The CREATE/TERM/WAIT seems to be critical, otherwise the DECterm opens up, then closes. Something about the DECterm not being fully created (?). The easiest way to customize the resource file is to go into Customize on the DECterm and then to Save Current Settings As... and give it a unique filename... Rick Beldin | |||||

Or look in TOOK::LATMASTER for the DDE application that uses LAT/master and has a DECwindows interface. |
