2915.0. "not a valid window ID from applications??" by RIPPLE::FARLEE_KE (Insufficient Virtual...um...er...) Mon Jun 11 1990 18:50

I am having a problem in the following scenario:
Client (host cluster) running VMS 5.2
Server (VS3100) running VMS 5.3-2

Several applications (decw$mail,Notes,CMS) exhibit the following behavior:
The terminal which invoked the application receives a stream of error messages
as below: "one integer parameter out of range" from X_CreateWindow followed
by an almost unending stream of "not a valid window ID" from every draw-type
operation done from then on.

The window is created, but tiny - typically 1" wide by 1/4" high. It can be
successfully resized and it appears to work correctly except for a few details
like scroll bars not being drawn, and the continuing stream of error messages
in the terminal window.

Any ideas?
Kevin

One other bit to the puzzle:
Other applications (PCA,DECterm) work just fine.
No errors, correct window creation, and all.

    These are application bugs. The decw$mail one has been been
    subsequently fixed, although I don't recall exactly when.
