Hi people, I have just installed a CAD package on the DS5000/200 using ULTRIX 4.0 and I'm sure the 5000 has been configured with the lowest graphic option (we only have it for a day or two). Anyway when I fire up the package it responds : Unable to allocate 172 colours cells. So next I : setenv DISPLAY other_dec_Station:0.0 and fire up the application again and this time no problems. The other DECstation by the way is running ULTRIX 3.1 UWS 2.1. Why does it seem that ULTRIX 4.0 has allocated so many colour cells for it self and is there a way I can get some of them back ? Help, Walter Zambotti.

Sounds like DPS is allocating some cells. THere is reference in this conference about a resoruce that limits the allocation of color cells by DPS. jeff | |||||
