I've got a customer just upgrade their workstations from VMS 5.1 to 5.3 and got some questions on it. 1. If they use "UIL/VERSION=V1", they will retain VMS 5.1 behavior of the newline character (\n). Is it mean that other modules of UIL will retain VMS V5.1 behavior or just for the newline character (\n) ? 2. They're using font TERMINAL14 on VMS 5.1, after upgrade to VMS 5.3, the right portion of the screen can't be displayed. How can they got back the same screen display on VMS 5.3 ? Is it the customer has to change their font to TERMINAL18, or 28 and test it out ? Thanks in advance Stephen Yeung HKEIS

There were changes in the encodings of a few glyphs in the terminal fonts between DECwindows V1 and V2, i.e. between VMS V5.1 and V5.3. I don't know if that is what is causing the problem you reported or not. You might try asking in the DECTERM conference on HANNAH. |
