How does VMS define DECW$START_XTERMINAL? I installed a VMS5.3-1 system on my MVAXII, and brought up DECwindows and the DECW$FD process started automatically. However, on our cluster, we must explicitly define DECW$START_XTERMINAL to get it to run. Could I have mistakenly defined DECW$START_XTERMINAL and then started DECwindows or is there some problem with my other VMS5.3-1 system. I can't read the documentation because I don't have the new V5.3-1 OLD disc yet... Thanks, Ted

I think you mean DECW$INSTALL_TERMINAL, not DECW$START_XTERMINAL. VMS shouldn't be defining this at all, i.e. you should have to explicitly define this to get the DECW$FD process. | |||||

Right. That's what I meant. Thanks. |
