2839.0. "Problem with XtRemoveGrab on modal dialog boxes." by CADSE::NORMAN () Wed May 30 1990 17:05
I'm having an annoying little problem with modal dialog boxes.
I have a dialog box that asks the user for two separate pieces of
information, each of which must be typed into a simple text widget.
When the user hits the APPLY or OK button, the application checks
the first string for correctness and brings up a caution box if there
is a problem. The user is then allowed to choose whether to use the string
as typed or stop the operation. After this decision, my application
checks the second string and brings up a caution box again if there
is a problem. The user may again accept the string as is or stop
the operation.
When the second box is unmanaged by DECwindows, I get the warning message:
X Toolkit Warning : XtRemoveGrab asked to remove a widget not on the grab list.
I suspect this has to do with the order in which the user has operated
upon the caution boxes. I think that if the second box was answered
first, the toolkit would not be confused.
I should mention that the application never makes it back to the main
loop until either the user answers "NO" to a caution box or the application
completes it processing.
How do I get rid of this warning message and/or the situation that caused it?
