I wish to use my Xserver to Display Ultrix applications running
on a remote node. I use a VAXstation 3100 and have several ways
of implementing this transparently for applications on remote VMS
nodes. (By transparently, I mean selecting the program on my
application menu, and up it comes).
I can't do this transparently under Ultrix at present. I have to
login to the remote Ultrix system and set my display back, and then
run the user executive. Can one of the Ultrix gurus suggest a better
way to do this??
Thanks
Declan

The Ultrix rsh program will run a program on a remote machine. For example rsh node1 -n dxterm -display node2:0 & will execute dxterm on node1 and have it display on node2. Ken | |||||

This is useful if your workstation and the remote system are both
running Unix. I have a VMS Workstation and wish to access applications
on a remote Ultrix system.
By the way, am I correct in thinking that rsh will only TCP/IP as
transport?
