Hi,

One of my customer complains about xwindow's circles quality.
The problem is easy to reproduce :

You draw a circle using XDrawArc using width and height of 46, 47 or 48.
And you do not get a perfect circle.

I reproduce this on vms v5.3, t5.4, and ultrix uws 2.1.

Is it a known problem ?
Is something corrected in X11R4 ?

Which server are you using?  Ultrix or VMS or MIT?

I reproduce this problem using local transport, on a vms v5.3 system, on a 
vms t5.4 system and an ultrix uws v2.1 system.
The server matches with the version of vms or ultrix.
It's not a risc system.

We've made some changes to arc code for the next major version of DECwindows.
I don't know if this will be affected or not.  I'll send a copy to the developer.

    We have implemented the new MIT X11r4 arc code/algorithms in the VMS
    server and this should fix the problem your customer is seeing
    with arcs.  
    
    See note 2502 for some more details on performance.

    For what it's worth, there is an open QAR in the VMS database for this
    problem (2798). There is also an SPR on VAXELN DECwindows.
