Hi,
what could be wrong, if you scan a DIN A4 picture (~210x290mm) with
a Digital MD300 Scanner, try to open the created .DDIF file from
DECpaint and get the error message: "Picture too big"?
Picture is perfectly readable/displayable with the CDA viewer.
Any hints?
Thanks
Armin

Are you sure you're not getting "Picture too big to fit on screen."?
At 300 dpi an A4 picture will not fit on the screen at 1 to 1 (pixel to
scanned dot). DECpaint should allow use of the image regardlessf of the
fact that it will not fit on the screen (it does with my scanned
images).
BTW I have written programs that allow the Microtek version of
the MD300 (MS300-A) to work on a serial line on a VAXstation. One
program is a motif based interface to the scanner the other is a
terminal based interface. The scanner works very slowly on a VAXstaion
serial line, but it works. If anyone has an old MS300-A that they would
like to use on a VAX (with the termial based version that means any vax
with a serial line) send me mail.
