This is just letting you know that PEX is being initialized as an extension
to the server. It can be ignored. It is not a problem.
This will also occur on 8-plane systems as well.

2795.2 | We should say what we mean | DECWIN::FISHER | Prune Juice: A Warrior's Drink! | Mon May 21 1990 17:55 | 8 |
| While I agree that it is OK (I have asked about it before, but I don't remember
the answer) I don't think "it lets you know it is loaded as an extension" is
right. First, if that is true, why not say "PEX Extension being loaded" instead
of "GVAX...". Second, I get the message even when I don't use PEX.
As long as I am in the mood, I'll submit a low-prio QAR.

Right...sorry about that. I just use it as an indication of PEX. I think
that there is a QAR somewhere on this...who knows though...

2795.4 | Message explanation | STAR::BMATTHEWS | | Tue May 22 1990 08:23 | 8 |
| That message shouldn't be put in the error log. We wanted all the code on
the GVAX( cvax on the graphics board) to fit in it's I-stream cache for
performance reasons. We went over the limit slightly but we arranged the
code so that the frequently used code would always be in I-stream during the
normal operation of the GVAX. I believe only the initialization code is not
always resident in the I-stream cache.
