I have a problem with windows disappearing on satellites.I am running VMS 5.3, and Decwindows v2. I have noticed that the windows disappearing often coinsides with other satellites leaving or joining the cluster. But it does happen at other times aswell. I have 2 CI machines, a 6340 and a 8800 and I use a quorum disk. One user made a note of the time his window vanished. I looked in DECW$SERVER_0_ERROR.LOG and found the following line :- 16-MAY-1990 15:12:50.4 Connection 2043a0 is closed by Txport(status = 20f4) Not all windows disappear and the user can restart the application without problems. Does this error give any clues as to whats happening ? Andy Williams Eng IS System Management

If you have a logfile for the application, find out what its final status was. Re: "network partner exited" What you may be seeing is a DECnet timeout of the link. James |
