I'm trying to connect a 3rd party device to the comm. port of my DECstation 3100. The device cable has a standard 25 pin connector, and the DECstation just has a telephone-jack style plug. Can anyone tell me how to connect these things? Is there some kind of adaptor or cable I can order? I've been trying to solve this for a week already. I ordered the stupid "serial line cable" that was mentioned in the system documentation, and guess what? It's telephone-jacks on both ends!!! Thanks -pd

You should be able to order them from DECdirect. The standard female version is a H8571-A. There is also a male version (don't know the number offhand). It's a RS323 standard connector with a RJ-style jack on the back for DECconnect cable. |
