2749.0. "How Do I Customize a Keymap?" by BROKE::JBAUER (Jonathan Bauer) Fri May 11 1990 10:39
I have a VaxMate at home and an LK201AA keyboard at the office. The keys are
pretty similar except the "<" and ">" keys. On the VaxMate (and most PCs)
these characters are entered by the upper case comma and period keys. But on
the LK 201, they are entered via a key to the left of the Z.
DECterm allows me to customize the keyboard so that the upper case comma and
period behave as they do on the VaxMate. But I've been unable to do the
customization on a more global basis, e.g. DecWrite uses the LK201 key map.
I've tried using the Session Manager customization feature, but only one
US keymap option is listed. I found the underlying keymap files that the
Session Manager uses (I think), but I'm unclear on how to add my own
personal keymap. Can someone direct me to the appropriate documentation
or tell me what I need to do?
Thanks in advance...
