2706.0. "question on QUEUE OPTIONS screen" by CSC32::RESKE (Life's a mystery & I haven't a clue) Thu May 03 1990 11:23

This question is for V2 of DECWindows.

From Session Manager I customer print screen such that:

    Output fomat: Postscript
    Output Color: B/W

I then do a "print portion of screen". When the queue options come
up, the only available Print Format is ANSI2, even though I have
postscript printing available. In other words, I don't get my choice
of print formats and it doesn't even match my printer setup!!
The logicals DECW$PRINTER_FORMAT_xxxx don't have any impact on this.
    (although that makes sense)

To even make this more strange, some of us here in the center have
ANSI2 come up as the only print format while other have only
Postscript (again this is only from SESMGR). We can't figure out
how to change this or in what resource file it is stored.

    Any ideas??

You might try defining the DECW$PRINTER_FORMAT* stuff in DECW$LOGIN.COM as
well as login. That will make sure the session manager also sees it. However,
I don't understand why you don't even see PostScript as an option. Maybe
I don't understand the print widget. (Maybe no one does...)

Good question. The calling application (print screen in this case) passes
a set of allowable print formats to the print widget. I have no idea why they
wouldn't pass "Postscript" in your case. Are any print screen developers
reading this conference (or anyone familiar with print screen?
