| There is no documentation on the format of the resource files nor is it
supported to hand-modify them (on VMS). There are many other notes in
this conference on the subject.

2689.2 | no doc on 'hidden' features | UTRTSC::HOFMAN | | Wed May 02 1990 06:07 | 21 |
| Thanks but,
> There is no documentation, and it is not supported.
The customer runs an third-party application wich modifies the file.
Lines written into it are for example :
DECW$TERM_noiconify TRUE
DECW$TERM_nolower
DECW$TERM_noresize
The customer is not able to modify these lines from within DECwindows.
If hand-modification is not supported from wich menu can he modify
selection of these parameters ?
It looks like there are some hidden features. But, please correct me
if I am wrong...

| You're right, there are hidden features. The third party application shouldn't
be touching this stuff either.
If the customer wants to, he can go ahead and edit the files. However, DEC
may refuse to troubleshoot or fix any problems that he may turn up that aren't
reproducible using the vanilla files. Also, the customer's changes may stop
working or work differently come the next release of VMS.
