2685.0. "Is it distributed or not really ???" by BERKLY::JOSEPH_BO (Win agreements, not arguments) Mon Apr 30 1990 15:04
Greeting all,
I have DECwrite running on my system (3200 running VMS V5.3).
I'd like an other colleague of mine to also have access to DECwrite
from HIS MACHINE... He''s also running VMS V5.3 , but he does not
have DECwrite installed on his system.
I gave an account on my system. But when he tried to set host to
my system to run DECwrite, he kept getting an error msg (some kind
of toolkit fatal error msge...)
Is DECwrite one of our distributed tool ? Can someone else
use DECwrite from my system without having to be physically on
my WS.
Using the SET DISPL/CREATE/NODE=nodename, I start DECwrite from
my workstation and display it on his system. But , I have to go
PHYSICALLY go to my system and LOGIN under his username to make
it work.
Am I doing something wrong ???
WhY is ''SET HOST'' From that colleague's system to mine NOT working?
Thanks in advance for your help/support

| When your associate loggs into your WS, does he do a SET/DISPLAY/CREA back
to his WS? He would have to do this.
