I have a customer who has a VAXstation 3100GPX running VMS 5.3-1. He sets host to a system running DECgraph 1.5 from a DECterm window and attempts to run DECgraph. When he hits GOLD S to create the sixel file, the terminal hangs. Can anybody give me any pointers on this problem? Thanks in advance, ali.

2672.1 | DECterm doesn't support host screen dumps | HANNAH::MESSENGER | Bob Messenger | Thu Apr 26 1990 18:35 | 13 |
Re: .0 I think the problem is that DECterm doesn't support host screen dumps, which is what DECgraph uses to get a sixel file. One way around this would be to get save the file in ReGIS form and then if necessary convert it to sixel form using RETOS. Another possibility would be to use the workstation-wide Print Screen command from the session manager. The best solution depends on why the customer needs to get a sixel file. The PrintServer 40 and ScriptPrinter printers, for example, support both ReGIS and sixel format, as well as PostScript (which can be generated from the session manager's Print Screen). -- Bob |
