I have a customer with the following problem when booting
DECwindows.
During DECW$STARTAPPS.COM when the startup tries to
$set display/create/permanent/transport=local decw$startup_device
he gets the error "no such device".
The driver is loaded, the logical decw$startup_device has not been
defined anywhere, the version is VMS 5.2 on a 3100 in an LAVC.
Can anyone tell me why he gets this error ?
Thanks..
GC.

You said the driver was loaded. Did you mean the WSA0: device,
or the graphics device? Set display is looking to clone WSA0.

Thanks for the pointer Vince,it appears the customer wasn't giving
me all the info he should have been... the wsdriver was not loaded
because...
DECW$STARTLIBS.COM had been mysteriously deleted from the system.
Thanks..
GC.
