I have a customer with the following problem when booting DECwindows. During DECW$STARTAPPS.COM when the startup tries to $set display/create/permanent/transport=local decw$startup_device he gets the error "no such device". The driver is loaded, the logical decw$startup_device has not been defined anywhere, the version is VMS 5.2 on a 3100 in an LAVC. Can anyone tell me why he gets this error ? Thanks.. GC.

You said the driver was loaded. Did you mean the WSA0: device, or the graphics device? Set display is looking to clone WSA0. | |||||

Thanks for the pointer Vince,it appears the customer wasn't giving me all the info he should have been... the wsdriver was not loaded because... DECW$STARTLIBS.COM had been mysteriously deleted from the system. Thanks.. GC. |
